Okay, so if you spend long periods or time on a motorbike at between 80-100kmh, could that constant windnoise inside your helmet give you hearing loss or even brain damage?

My 3.5 year son has been detected with a moderate hearing loss. Doctor says it is a mixed loss. He has fluid in the middle ear. We have started ENT Treatment for middle ear infection. My query is that after the middle ear infection is resolved, will there be an improvement in the degree of the loss. Will my child still need hearing aid for speech development? Will the usage of aids be temporary or permanent? Please help.

My 5 year old daughter has been told she has hearing loss which will be permanent. They said it can often be genetic or could have been caused by past ear infections. I was wondering whether it could have possibly been caused by her having a fall when she was a baby or toddler?

I am looking to start in a nursing program this Fall. Could moderate hearing loss disqualify me?

I just went to the doctor and they said I have moderate hearing loss in both ears. They also say I may need a hearing aid in one ear. They didn’t seem concerned about disqualification from nursing, but I was rejected from the Border Patrol and struggled with the the Philadelphia Police Department over it. I just don’t want to lose yet another opportunity for something that is not debilitating in any way to me.

What constitutes consistent exposure? What is tinnitus? Does the sufferer refuse to do anything about it, demanding instead that everyone who speaks to them must stop mumbling? Why do you suppose there is such a stigma about having hearing loss, given that so many people suffer from it?

After finally convincing my husband to get his hearing tested, we accepted an offer from Miracle Ear to test their product for 30 days. My husband was very pleased with the sample he tried during the initial visit, but is very concerned about the high price of $6,500. Does anyone have experience in this area you would be willing to share with us? Thanks.

The high street companies I have visited say that online companies do not have the resources to adjust aids when needed so I am unsure whether to trust them.
