I’ve been using a cell phone for four years now and I would say that over 99% of the time I keep the phone to my right ear. I just find it uncomfortable holding the phone with my left hand and it sounds different in my left ear for some reason.

Disregarding cell phone radiation, is this a bad thing that I don’t switch back and forth? Am I more at risk for hearing loss in my phone ear because I’ve never switched? Anyone else had experience with this problem?

when should childern be screened for vision and hearing loss?

Concern asked:

My four year old son was recently diagnosed with a profound sensorineural hearing loss in one ear. The other ear had slight hearing loss but return a flat line. They told me he was not a candidate for cochlear implant or hearing device for the profound ear.

Does anyone have suggestion or an experience otherwise?

Nearly 1 in 5 Americans own an iPod (or similar brand). They can be listened to at 100dB. This is loud enough to cause permanent hearing loss with regular use.

I was exposed to the sound of loud gunshots at a shooting range, and am now experiencing hearing loss and constant rinigng in my right ear. This occured last Saturday, and is showing no sign of getting better. Is this something I should get checked out and is it too soon to tell if it is permanent or not?
