You can call me whatever you want. deaf, Deaf, hard of hearing, impaired doesn't matter. Who really cares! What you refer to me as doesn't change the fact that I can't hear crap. So why worry about it! lukegllghr

The standard term, when referring to pple with a hearing loss is: a person who is *Deaf, deaf, deafened, or hard of hearing*. Mostly people say deaf or hard of hearing. Best lead is what does the person themselves refer to themselves as. A person with ie late hearing loss may say they are hearing impaired. A member of the Deaf community will never use that term..they are Deaf with a capital D. see-ellen2001

No, "Hearing Impaired " is what is considered "politically correct". The terminology was changed from "Deaf/Hard of Hearing or People with Hearing Loss" as those terms were deemed "politically incorrect" originally.

Doesn't matter if it's P.C. or not, it;'s still a label. No Real Help
