Can a Targus piercing cause hearing loss?

I got my targus done about a week ago and it has been great. I went to a club last night and the music was really loud. After I left I couldnt hear that well. My hearing isn’t back to normal in the ear of my targus piercing yet. I know the hearing loss i probably due to the loud music, but could it also be becasue of my new piercing?

So this might not be a sufficient answer for you, but I am a communication disorders major and we deal with sound and acoustics as part of our education…anyway you somewhat touched on a question I have often wondered, so I am basically replying to your question with another question!
Basically, to simply it…your pinna (the part of your ear that is on the outside of your head), your outer, middle, and inner ear all have many little parts that serve different functions to modify the sounds that come into your ear before it makes it to your auditory canal and then to your brain… I have always wondered if piercings slightly altar the way the sound is modified acoustically… obviously you have slightly altered this intricate system, so I would assume there would have to be SOME SLIGHT change, no matter how insignificant. Anyway… I think everything should be ok, I would just give that ear a few more days, I would not imagine that any of your hearing loss would be permanent!
