Can i be a MP with hearing loss?

I joined the ARNG but i have hearing loss and i have to be a cook. I’ve already sworn in and i ship out in less then 2 weeks. I would really like to get into law enforcement after i get back from the military and i would really like to be an MP. Would it be possible for me to change my mos to anything else i really dont want to be a cook.

Then why dod you sign up for that? And two..your life is going to be hell if that isn’t what you want to be…at least it’s only part time redleg

It’s gunna be hard to change your contract. You would have to serve as a cook for a year at least before changing to MP. And you would need to find an MP unit in your area that will take you. Then you would need to get your unit to agree to release you to the MP unit.
All this sounds difficult but in reality it isn’t. People do it all the time. DoubleL

you have to get your mos in the contract. the old MOS for MP was 31B and now it is 95B. MP you need a ST of 91, qualify for secret clearance, have normal vision, and have a drivers license. Or at least that’s what it says on my papers that have all the MOS’s for ARNG. FailingIdeals

Plus, it depends on how severe your hearing loss is. MP is a combat field…how good are going to be you if you can’t tell where the shooting is from? I would definitely not want to be your battle buddy. Nobody wants to go into a firefight handicapped. That’s just the honest truth. R
