		<description>It can... depending on if it's progressive or not.  Many genetic hearing losses are not progressive.  Some are... it's really hard to tell you either way.  It's something to talk to your audiologist about.  I'm sure you'll get a follow-up eval done in 6 months, and that will tell how much or if it's progressing.

It may also be something that you should talk to a genetic counselor about... depending on the gene affected (if it is genetic), that will tell you if it will progress.  Also know that hearing losses are extremely variable.  Just hang in there for the time being.  If you were only diagnosed at 15, I'm assuming your loss isn't too bad at this point.  Do whatever you can to learn about it and why it happened. :)</description>
