I’ve heard that OI can cause a certain amount of hearing loss through childhood up to the early 20s. How does this happen if it’s a disease that causes bones to break easily?

I am REALLY white (not albino, but my skin is almost as white, I’m not kidding you) and I have blue eyes, and I am having hearing loss at 14 years old. I heard that in animals like cats that if they are white with blue eyes, their chances of being deaf skyrocket. So, I want to know: Does this apply to humans too? What about albino people? Is there chances of being deaf increased, too?

I use my laptop for a few hours each evening almost every day, and due to all of the programs I run and the laptop being a few years old, the fan is almost always running on high… Can constant exposure to this cause hearing loss or damage my hearing in any way?

I have ears like a safe-cracker; I’m 35 years old but in my last test at work my hearing tests as being equivalent to that of a young teenager.

The problem is that I sometimes have difficulty recognizing words - especially in songs. I might listen to a track 20 times but unless I read the lyrics first about half of the words are a garble.

I also explained that at times it felt as if I couldn’t remember English and people were just garbling. He said my hearing was perfect but that I might have “____ hearing” where I have trouble understanding the first few times.

What is this called??

I think I have hearing loss, my ear feels like something is inside of it and it’s so annoying, and I turn my music and TV too loud because I can’t hear it well, and I have trouble hearing things my friends say to me. Is there any solution to everything?
Plus, I don’t think I’m able to see a doctor anytime soon…

Unknown Person asked:

I’m 15 and have NIHL (noise induced hearing loss) in one ear, so I’m going to stop listening to loud music. If I do this, obviously it will prevent me from losing my hearing more, but for the longer I do it, will it make my hearing better?
Rephrased - if I stop listening to loud music will my hearing gradually improve or is it stuck like this forever?
