ddti asked: I had a midwife today tell me that you shouldn’t have more than 2 ultrasounds in your pregnancy as it can cause potential hearing loss to the baby. Is this so? She said it was state law, like you’d have to sign a waiver if you have more than 2 the ENTIRE pregnancy.
What about dopplers, do they cause any hearing trouble?

I don’t smoke, my mother did when she was pregnant with me,,,, I am hearing impaired

Umi asked: My mom has hearing loss, and she got it from her father. But no one else in the family has it except her and him. She has 4 other sisters, and none of them have it.
I was born with hearing loss, but my sister and brother don’t have it. My brother is a complete ***hole, and he has anger issues. When we don’t hear something, he calls us a deaf piece of ****. My mom has told him that when he has a kid he better pray that the child doesn’t have hearing loss.
But I was just wondering what are the chances of a child getting hearing loss.

Hello! I’m 17 weeks pregnant and a professional drummer. I will be going on tour for 2 weeks in Europe. So, I will be 18 and 19 weeks pregnant. I am nervous about all the noise from the drums (especially the snare drum that is the drum closest to my stomach) can cause hearing loss for my unborn child.
Tell me your thoughts on this. I will not be playing more than 30 minutes at a time.
