That's why people born deaf can still have good balance, as long as their deafness isn't related to damage of the rest of the ear. A severe ear infection can cause hearing loss and if it affects your middle ear, balance issues too. In your middle ear is a circular part that has fluid in it. when this fluid sloshes around(when you spin in a cirlce fast), it will make you lose your balance.
