I have worked on B-52's for 8 years now. I take a hearing test every year and some how, every year, my base line is the same as the year before. The hearing protection we have now is pretty good. They're called quattros, quadruple flanged ear plugs. They should issue ear defenders to all flightline personnel, or at least a good pair of David Clarks. That's why you are given a hearing test in your separation physical. Without a hearing test done in 1965 to confirm your hearing loss, there is nothing you can do. Plus being at least 66 years old, probably has more do do with your hearing loss, than service 40 years ago. Alot of people suffered hearing loss in some form.

I was in and working the flightline for 20 years, so it was a good investment for me. But I've known others that had this problem. If its documented in your miltary medical records, go to a VA agency like VFW or DAV and find an advocate that will file a disability claim for you.
