Doesnt matter how loud it is, it still does damage. This is because its so close to your ear, and your eardrums cant handle it. For some reason, I still dont think thats your problem. Sounds like you've been swimming and a good amount of water was trapped in your ears. It maybe could even have been a bad shower? Either way, if this didnt help, go see a doctor.
