How do you deal with people who are experiencing hearing loss and who are somewhat angry because of it?

We usually explain to our patients that ear cilia are like tiny muscles that when not worked will die and never come back. Use it or lose it!
We tell them we can help slow down further hearing loss with a hearing aid, which is true.
I work for a hearing aid provider.
