However I would recommend that you check for ear infection, as an inflamed ear drum or fluid behind the ear will cause temporary loss but it is not necessarily permanent if it is treated. However, it is likely that damage occurs because of exposure to loud noise. As in one of the answers to your question, it is important to only have the sound as loud as you need to hear clearly.
