How would someone from Michigan without Health Care Insurance-get a hearing Aid?

    Unfortunately, even if you had insurance, it’s unlikely the insurance company would pay for it. Most insurance companies will not pay for hearing aids. It’s sad, isn’t it? Hearing aids can cost thousands of dollars and most people will pay out of pocket for the whole cost. Maybe if we make enough noise, the government will start mandating that insurance companies pay for or contribute to the cost.

    Most insurance doesn’t cover hearing aids…and Medicare doesn’t provide the kinds that are most appropriate due to cost constraints. The best bet for your friend is to contact the local vocational rehabilitation group and see what they can do to help. Many of these programs will provide hearing aids at little or no cost.
