I am considering a career in the u.s. air force, but i have hearing loss in one ear. will it keep me out?

I can’t hear higher frequencies that will in my right hear, but I do have perfect hearing in my left ear.

    I was in the US Air Force fo six years, and in basic training I was told that my hearing in my left ear was not good enough for the job I had qualified for, computer operator. I recieved a waiver and spent six very good years serving my country. I recieved the GI bill which paid for nursing school. Everyone is different, but unless you have major hearing loss you shouldn’t have trouble. Good Luck. Off we go, into the wild blue yonder………… illegalzgohome

    Possibly.You are dealing with the lives of people.If you cant hear instructions correctly then you could be in major trouble.Only the airforce and a medical can tell you this. terry
