I have an ear infection and I have a bit of hearing loss and there is a continuous ringing sound in my ears?
Luke asked:
I did have pain but the doctor set me up with a 7 day antibiotic period, I have 2 or 3 days left of them. The pain has almost completely gone but it is really hard to hear. Is this permanent?

I am quite scared thinking that I am going to be deaf.
Will it be safe to hold my nose and blow the stuff in my ears further out?
Thanks people.

if your hearing doesnt come back after coming off the antibiotics you got two options. Goto your doctors and ask for your ear to be syringed. If your ear is clear of wax then demand a hearing test. Your ear infection may have been an inner ear infection which can cause deafness. Happened to me 5 years ago. ear infection was so bad it killed all nerves from my ear to my brain. left me permanently deaf in one ear! karengreen_uk@btopenworld.com

You are suffering from tinnitus. It sounds like an outer ear infection so it’s not going to be permanent.
Once the infection has cleared up completely the ringing and discomfort will subside. Sometimes the side effects, such as tinnitus and hearing loss, can take a few weeks to go away completely. That’s perfectly normal.
You’ll be fine, don’t sweat it. Libertarian
