Unfortunately there is no way to predict what will happen in your specific case. Just follow the Dr.'s orders and take your meds as prescribed. I am an audiologist and it amazes me how many people I see with a huge difference between their ears from a sudden loss 6 mos ago, a few years ago etc. They never went to a doctor for it. How can you not be concerned when you suddenly don't hear?!? I mean seriously for anybody reading this if you suddenly can't hear much out of one or both of your ears get to the ENT as fast as possible. Sudden SNHL is best treated with steroids in first 48 hours.
