I would like to know if they let people with mild hearing loss into the australian defence force?
Mel asked:
I have applied for navy seaman officer and supply officer. Would I qualify for a medical waiver?

It depends on what you mean by a “mild” hearing loss, as this could mean any number of things. You will need to do the same hearing test as everyone else on your assessment day and failing this will impact on what job options are open to you. I think it is unlikely you will make Seaman Officer if your hearing is impaired, but each job is subject to different medical requirements and you will be deemed Class 2 medically fit subject to a service waiver for a particular position. Your best bet is to first contact your nearest Defence Force Recruiting Medical Section and have a chat about the particulars of your condition. If your hearing impairment is as you say quite minor, you could also arrange to conduct the hearing test prior to attending your assessment day, or make it the first thing you do on the assessment day.
Good luck
