		<description>Yes they have lowered the max volume output on the new ipods.  They have also added a feature that allows you to set the max volume even lower to protect your ears.  Remember, hearing loss is accumulative the the longer you listen to something very loud the more damage you do that cant be repaired.</description>

Lowering volume was introduced a while ago but it was phased out because of unpopularity. it may be that the volume has been lowered though but not significantly. 

In most new iPods though there is a master volume adjuster where you can choose how loud/the max volume. This can be modified for the listeners preference. 

e.g. standard is max volume 100 but you change the max to be 50. So your max volume is now only go up to 50.

Look in your settings or see te manual.</description>
