Prodigal Son asked: I’m Profoundly Deaf and also suffer from Ménière’s disease and Tinnitus,
I’m very worried as my Audiologist recently told me my hearing loss is progressive.
Do I have a right to ask him for more information on this?

My audiologist suggested I get a hearing aid that will a) help with the loss and b) block certain pitches. (I used to keep a balled up reciept in there to block them. :-/) How much is a basic hearing aid for a small amount of hearing loss? Thanks!

My ear doctor says that there is no way that it can cause my hearing to get better but you can’t argue with physical evidence. Am I crazy or has anyone else heard of this happening? I made an appt. with my audiologist for next month.

I looked at the requirements and all, and my test says I’m in the normal range, but can you still have inner ear damage if you don’t have hearing loss? I heard that military tests your hearing to make sure you can hear and to see if you have inner ear damage because it will mess up your balance.
