Hearing Information

My four year old son was recently diagnosed with a profound sensorineural hearing loss in one ear. The other ear had slight hearing loss but return a flat line. They told me he was not a candidate for cochlear implant or hearing device for the profound ear.

Does anyone have suggestion or an experience otherwise?

Im from philippines . i have a 4 month old son . in the hospital where i gave birth .. hearing and balnace is a SOP . he failed in the three hearing test . but it didn’t bother me bec. the doctor said he has colds at that time . and our pedia tel us to have another different test , which is the BAER . (Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response . Yesterday we have it done in the same hospital where he had done the first test . But the result is Abnormal ABR study suggestive of severe hearing loss on both ear . 75 Desibels in both ear .
I dont know where to start ? where to have my child implant a cochlear implant ? is my child will have a normal life like the other kids ? can he go to a normal school ? i need a oppinion or suggestion … pls help me im so depressed and stress out .

I am sure I was told I can never use the hearing aid again in that ear that has had the cochlear implant operation if it doesnt work but can’t find any info on it. Can anyone help?

get the ci. but i’m afraid of surgery. she wears the digital hjearing aids. and she tries to repeat words but it’s not that clear. i don’t know what to do.
