preventing further hearing loss?

Just wondering if there are things i can do to prevent further loss, or probably more importantly, things i should avoid? I dont go to loud concerts very often, and although i do use headphones a bit i use a closed-hear one (senneheisser hd 212 pro) which arent as bad as buds.

I am also 12 and I cant afford to lose a lot of my hearing while im 21 because I will loose many experinces in my life. I also go to about 5 concerts a year and the music gets REALLY LOUD. I know I could but earplugs but most of them block out most of the frequincies. Any suggestions?
