Could listening to my MP3 player all day for a long weekend give me hearing loss?

This has to be the nerdiest case of potential hearing loss ever, but: I got a new MP3 player and spent the entire MLK weekend listening to audiobooks. Maybe eight hours a day or more. Typically the volume was less than half way to maximum. However, today my ears feel like they are full of water and speech sounds muffled. Could I really have damaged my hearing in such a short time?

I was using a Palm Pixi and generic earbuds if that helps.

how do you know if you are having noise hearing loss?

I would like to ask does excessive listening to ipod earbuds or with medium volume, slightly higher than the minimum 60db, make you loss your hearing? or make your ear hurt?

i mean i notice this morning my ear hurts a little, though not ringing. I don’t know if this is because i listened to ipod earbuds 3-4 hours a day.

how may i know if i am having noise hearing loss to my ear?

thanks in advance
