lemon asked: Hi All,
Recently, my 14 months old baby was putting my handphone near his ear which was then playing loud music. i took it away from him only after few mins when I realise it. I am very worry that it will affect his hearing? It was quite loud even to an adult if putting it close to ear. I was not alert enough to take it away from him. Anyone can advise on this? Anyone know where can I do a hearing screening for toddler in Singapore?

RP asked: around 3 years ago around 20054, i accidentally shot an airsoft gun, the guns that shoot yellow plastic bbs, very close to my right ear. it rang and was uncomfortable for a few hours, but my hearing returned and was normal for the next two years, until 2006, it was fine, then one day, i popped my ear, like fake yawning, then *click* i hear funny in my right ear, i can hear clear and everything, i don’t think there’s hearing loss, but my right ear constantly feels stuffed, and when i talk, it feels unbalanced, like my left hears more than my right. what can it be?
no ipods or loud music
this was so abrupt for no reason, can it relate to the bb gun incident?
and for two years after that incident, all was fine.
1.5 years ago, i went to the doctor inquiring about my strange hearing, and passed my audiology test with no problems hearing that, and she said i might have had a blocked eustachian tube, but it hasn’t cleared yet. though my nose is constantly stuffy.

mixeddudetx asked:
I am not deaf by any means but I’m just curious. Let’s say I was to listen to loud music every day and I started to lose my hearing. Would it be possible to regain some or most of it back without the aid of a hearing aid?

What is the science behind hearing loss due to loud music? Explanations of ways and body parts (parts of the ear) would be helpful, and even more helpful with a source.

I am 20 years old turning 21, forever i been running by stereo loud music playing like the volume set high, and running by the computer boombox, but now I been turning things down going to parties with earplugs, and right now movies at the threatres i feel i should wear protection bc its so loud, how mush hearing I lost if I down that with music since now like everyday for less then 30 mins? Total outlet power is 220, with big 6.5 woofer, and the volume level starts at 80bs then decreases getting louder? what would the safe volume for like my truck? stereo? and Tv? like level? right now I can turn the volume to 10 or 7 and still can hear words in the tv but i turn it up to 15, and on the steroe i can hear some songs at 80? so how much is my hearing damaged? is my hearing still good? can your ear hairs repair for my age? and I have earwax that could of protected my ears? but did i do damage by rubbing the edges with a quetip? can a eartrimmer be damaging to sound by your ears?
like sometimes I still turn up the tv loud to 20-25, but it seems like i cant hear very good unless its up their? is my hearing worsening? but i can hear whisper? minor sounds? am i just parniod? any suggestions to keep on task? and can wearing earplugs improperly cause ear damage?
