hearing loss

Recently while welding, some slag popped and landed in my ear. This is a commom risk while welding, to be burned by hot slag in most any area imagineable. This time however the slag seemed to go deeper into my ear than norm. Since then I have had a ringing in my ear and a sensation of stoppage like as in a change of atmosphere or altitude. My hearing doesn’t seem affected, but the stoppage and ringing at times is very annoying. Is this something to worry about or will it go away as all welding burns do?
