gibs_neil asked:

I have had a fairly steady hearing loss that seems to have accelerated in the last year or so. I do not have health insurance at this time, but I need to get this corrected. It is affecting everyday life as well as my classwork. I need to find a cost effective way to correct this any suggestions?

I am 32, have suffered from chronic inner ear infections all of my life (reason for hearing problem). I am a full time student, which is the reason I do not have insurance. Oh, and because of the ear infections I have had both ear drums rupture more than once. It only hurt the first time.

I’ve been using a cell phone for four years now and I would say that over 99% of the time I keep the phone to my right ear. I just find it uncomfortable holding the phone with my left hand and it sounds different in my left ear for some reason.

Disregarding cell phone radiation, is this a bad thing that I don’t switch back and forth? Am I more at risk for hearing loss in my phone ear because I’ve never switched? Anyone else had experience with this problem?

For some unknown reason my left hearing aid is whistling and it’s getting annoying, molds are good and fit well. My hearing aids are digital so I don’t know what’s really causing this whistle. My concern is can this whistle cause hearing loss if you continuously hear it whether it’s loud or quiet?

I just got called for Jury Duty but have hearing loss can that be a reason to not attend?

I am 24 years old and do wear hearing aids, but I still have hearing loss. Could that be a reason not to attend? On the notice it says that for a disability that a physician has to fill it out. I live in California if that helps, thanks.

I have had braces for a month, and i have a substantial overbite. For the past month, my right ear and jaw pop and crack four or five times a day. I feel as though my hearing is suffering too.

my orthodontist says the reason i am grinding is because of my overbite and misaligned teeth. Should the temporary hearing loss wear off the less i grind?

If someone has really bad hearing loss in one ear that prevents them from hearing everything people say. Then should they let their employer know about it? Also what advice would you give them about rude customers who become short because they can’t hear them because they’re too quiet for their good ear to pick up the sound or the person isn’t speaking clearly to be understood? I just think it’s wrong for anyone to be rude to the handicapped and slightly handicapped people. No matter the reason. Because it’s not like they can help it.
