I suddenly lost some hearing in left ear and i hear ringing what could it be?

I was playing Call of Duty 4 and i just suddenly lost hearing and started hearing ringing noises. Its 12pm and everything else is fine. Its sort of wierd.
I didnt have my TV loud.
