Hello, I’m an Otolaryngologist (ear doctor), and that’s one of the early signs of deafness, I would get it checked out asap because the eardrum is probably infected and it could possibly spread to the other drum. If you don’t get it checked out and taken care of in about a week you could go deaf. austin k

Oh, give me a break…if you’re an Otolaryngologist, I’ll eat my socks. You don’t get an inner ear infection from going to a concert. That, and infections don’t spread from ear to ear.

After being in a noisy environment, it can sometimes take a week for hearing to come back to normal. The fact that you’re now over that means that there is a good chance that you have done permanent damage to your ears.

You’re wise for seeing a doctor…but at this point, you need to take care that you are not listening to things (ie. your television, stereo, car radio) at louder volumes to compensate for your hearing loss. Also, wear earplugs when you shower. If you do have a ruptured eardrum, you do NOT want to get water in your inner ear.

Best of luck to you…and next time, wear earplugs. DocHenry

once I had hearing loss after being in close to homemade fireworks(we were so risky in those younger years) and there was swelling inside the ear that prevented sound waves from reaching the eardrum…advil for a few days and the swelling went away and all was well Library Eyes
