what are remedies for hearing loss from air travel?
dddragonfly asked:
My husband went overseas by air and has hearing loss in one ear. There’s no vertigo or dizziness and no pain. Just hearing loss. Any suggestions other than seeing a doctor (he’ll have to wait until his return) would be appreciated.

Suck a boiled candy. It is possible his Eustachian tube is blocked causing a temporary hearing loss due to an air pressure difference in the middle ear. The candy might cause the tube to open back up, because the tube opens when swallowing.
More than likely this will clear up by itself. If not it should not be a big deal for a doctor to fix this when he gets back.
