Are flip-phones or singles better? For those hearing impaire people who uses cell phones, do ppl around you hear the other person talking on the phone?

    It really depends.

    Cell phones put out a massive amount of electronic ‘noise’ which can affect a hearing aid. The best thing to do is to try different cell phones and see which sounds best.

    I had a patient one time who had two identical hearing aids, yet one picked up static from his cell phone while the other did not.

    So it really depends on the specific hearing aid, and the specific phone.

    Starkey have produced a Bluetooth dongle that works with many BTE hearing aids and any Bluetooth capable cell phone. This is probably the best overall solution for cellphone usage available currently.
