Why do I have Sudden hearing loss?

hearing loss
Noah asked:

I have had a cold for a couple of days, a cough, runny/congested nose, and my ears have felt clogged. Two hours ago i started being able to hear less and less of sound through my right ear, 45 minutes later I lost all hearing in my right ear. What is this and what could it mean?
BTW, I’m 14 and am a male

You have a lot of liquid in your eustachian tube on the right side. It’s a result of having a cold and possibly of blowing your nose too hard. The tube connects your inner ear to the back of your nose.

The problem should improve when the cold goes away. Meanwhile, try lying on your left side so it will drain. Sandra
